Thruxton National 900m Circuit

The final round of the Electroheads thunderbolt championship returns Thruxton after a long 3 week break and thankfully the conditions were hot and dry.

All to play for, two drivers could win the championship with a three way battle for the next 3 places.

Group 1 Qualifying

Klimas puts it on pole with a time that was 0.078 faster than Ampofo-Anim who qualified second with Wes in third. Then came Gray, Ampofo-Anim, Fuchsel, Hamilton, Griggs and Herridge.

Group 2 Qualifying

Winfield snatches pole by 1 tenth of a second over Neave and Garrett. Warner came next with Leach, Parry, Dixon and Gladwyn rounding off the order.

Group 1 Heat 1

Klimas wins by 4 tenths over Wes and Ampofo-Anim who got the fastest lap of a 48.728. Then was Fuchsel, Ampofo-Anim, Hamilton, Gray, Griggs and Herridge.

Group 2 Heat 1

Neave wins a tough fight with the fastest lap 2 tenths Infront of Winfield who was followed up by Garrett in third. Then came Dixon, Leach, Warner, Parry and Gladwyn.

Wes closely wins by .119 of a second over Klimas who got fastest lap and was closely followed by Ampofo-Anim. Then was Hamilton, Gray, Fuchsel, Ampofo-Anim, Griggs and Herridge.

Group 2 Heat 2

Neave dominates with the win by 6 seconds and fastest lap over Dixon and Warner. Then Winfield came 2 tenths behind who was followed by Parry, Gladwyn, Leach and Garrett.

Klimas wins again by 2 tenths over Wes who got the fastest lap and Hamilton. Ampofo-Anim was next from Gray, Fuchsel, Ampofo-Anim, Griggs and Herridge rounding off the grid.

Group 2 Final

Heartbreak for Neave as it looked like he was set for the title by leading and having the fastest lap when a mechanical issue meant he had to retire the car which let Winfield win with the fastest lap from Warner and Dixon. Then was Parry, Leach, Gladwyn, Garrett and Neave.

Thruxton National 900m Circuit

A very cold but dry day at Thruxton Kart Centre sees Round 4 of the Thunderbolt Championship restart after lockdown. Two groups of Cadets fighting for the all important points, only one practice session to learn the track and then straight into timed qualification.

Cadet Group 1 Qualifying

Wes sticks it on pole with a time of 51.3 by .119 of a second from Klimas and Hamilton. Then came Gray, Parry, Morris, Smedley, Herridge.

Cadet Group 2 Qualifying

Leach puts it on pole with a time of 49.523 which was 2 tenths faster than Ampofo-Anim who was followed by Dixon. Then came Warner, Ampofo-Anim, Smedley, Garrett and Winfield.

Cadet Group 1 Heat 1

Hamilton wins by 3 tenths in front of Klimas who managed to snatch fastest lap on the last lap of the thrilling race which saw the top three covered by a second. Wes was 3^rd with parry following him in 4^th. Then came Morris, Gray, Herridge and Smedley.

Leach win a race he absolutely dominated winning by 5 second and fastest lap from Ampofo-Anim, Warner, Dixon, Ampofo-Anim, Garrett, Winfield and Smedley.

Klimas wins another close race by just 1 second from Hamilton who got the fastest lap then came Wes another second behind. Then came Morris, Parry, Gray, Smedley and Herridge.

Ampofo-Anim wins by 2 seconds over Warner and Dixon. Then came Ampofo-Anim with the fastest lap of 48.981. Winfield followed with Garrett close on his heals. Then Smedley came 7^th with Leach not even starting.

Cadet Group 1 Final

Hamilton wins a dramatic battle which saw him and Klimas collide on the final lap to let Wes into second but Klimas did get fastest lap though. Then came Parry, Herridge, Smedley and Morris unluckily had a dnf from a comfortable p4 and Gray was 8^th.

Cadet Group 2 Final

Ampofo-Anim wins a four-way battle between the top 4 drivers which saw Warner who was leading for most of the race tumble down to 4^th. Then came Dixon and leach who got the fastest lap of a 48.657. Then was Warner, Garrett, Winfield, Smedley and Ampofo-Anim.

Leach wins pole with a time of 52.183 and fastest in all three sectors and obliterated the field by 1.1 seconds in front of rapid Patel and Neave. Then came Ampofo-Amin, Dixon, Morrish, Williamson, Warner and Walker.

Leach wins heat 1 from Neave and Patel who made a costly mistake on lap 1 but fought back with fastest lap and fastest in all three sectors. He was followed by Ampofo-Amin, Dixon, Warner, Williamson, Morrish and Walker.

Klimas wins pole with a time of 1:00.305 which was 7 tenths faster than second placed Hardy. Leach then came in third but was another 5 tenths off.

Ampofo-Amin wins 2 of 2 from Gray and Garrett. Crucial mistakes from Neave and Coombs saw them in fourth and fifth but Neave did get fastest lap and fastest sector 1 and 2 with Coombs fastest in the final sector. Then came Fuchsel, Warner and Williamson.

Introduction and the drivers

For Electroheads there are only 10 karts so they run two groups I was in the second group with Braeden Williamson, Jonathan Fuchsel, Joel Dixon, Jotham Ampofo-Anim, Max Winfield, Ollie Morrish, Jenson Walker, and Owen Neave. Where as in group 1 there were Harrison Leach, Ollie Hardy, Jacob Gilbert Lee, Eva Morris, Ellis Garrett, Cory Chapman, Thomas Grey, Nathan Ampofo-Anim, Solomon Adeniji and Jonas Klimas.

Cadet Group 1 Qualifying

Harrison Leach wins pole with a lap time of 1:00.222 closely followed by Ollie Hardy and Jacob Gilbert Lee with lap times of 1:00.385 and 1:00.498 respectively. Then came Eva Morris, Ellis Garrett, Cory Chapman, Thomas Gray, Nathan Ampofo-Anim, Solomon Adeniji and Jonas Klimas.

Wesley Coombs nabs pole with a time of 59.397 followed by Braeden Williamson 8 tenths off with a lap time of 1:00.280 then came Owen Neave who did an extra session and posted in 3^rd with a time of 1:00.334 then came Jonathan Fuchsel, Joel Dixon, Jotham Ampofo-Anim, Max Winfield, Ollie Morrish and Jenson Walker.

Klimas wins an eventful race with the fastest lap and a 5 second advantage over Hardy. Leach was third followed by Gilbert Lee another 9 seconds back. Then came Chapman followed by Ampofo-Anim, Gray, Garrett, Morris and Adeniji.

Neave wins in group 2 followed by Coombs and Williamson. Neave got the fastest lap with a 1:03.060 and had an average speed of 37.422 over the whole race. Winfield then came in 4^th followed by Ampofo-Anim, Fuchsel, Dixon, Morrish and Walker.

Cadet Group 1 Heat 2

Klimas wins two in a row but not unscaved as he was handed a 5 second penalty for contact which reduced his lead down to a 4 lead. He did set fastest lap though of a 58.868 which was 1.1 seconds faster than the second placed time. In second was Hardy with Gray round out the top three. Then came Gilbert Lee, Morris, Chapman, Garrett, Leach, Adeniji and the non-starting Ampofo-Anim.

Cadet Group 1 Final

Klimas wins three out of three with the fastest lap for good measure followed by Gilbert Lee another 24 seconds back with a penalty of 5 seconds as well as Garrett and Adeniji with Hardy getting disqualified due to contact. In third came Leach followed by Gray, Chapman, Ampofo-Anim, Adeniji, Garrett and Morris.
